The Administration Department includes the Town Manager, Town Clerk, and Deputy Town Clerk. This department is responsible for providing support to the Town and all of its other departments. The staff in this department is responsible for water/sewer billing and collections, municipal tax billing and collections, zoning, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and benefits administration for all departments. Administrative personnel can help citizens establish their water/sewer accounts, provide information on all Town functions and services, and handle all planning and zoning related questions. Our office hours are 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday at the Town Hall located at 110 W. Allenton Street.
Police Department
The Town of Mt. Gilead Police Department is located at 107 W. Allenton across the street from the Town Hall.
The police department currently has seven full time officers and a number of part-time reserve officers. We're developing several new programs to help local residents and businesses. For more information, visit our blog.

Park Program
Reserve your Spot Early - Summer vacation is almost here and once again, the Mount Gilead Recreation Committee will be offering a summer park program at Stanback Park and Pool. Cathy Haithcock will be the director of Park Program/Pool and has many fun and educational activities planned for the six-week program. All activities are supervised by adults as well as high school/college counselors who are all CPR/First Aid trained and Certified as Professional Lifeguards by the American Red Cross.

- Tuesday night 6 to 7 free Adult swimming lessons.
- Wednesday nights Water Aerobic classes 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. $1.00 a class
- Thursday nights July and August teen night $1.00 per person 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- Pool may be rented for 2 hour parties at $80.00 per party and includes 2 lifeguards.
- Times for parties can be Monday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday nights or Saturday mornings.

Public Works
The Town of Mt. Gilead Public Works department is responsible for the maintenance of water and sewer lines, the operation of Mount Gilead's wastewater treatment plant, trash removal, the maintenance of Town facilities, and many other tasks.
Recycling bins are located at the Town Hall.

Fire Department
The Town of Mt. Gilead fire department is an all volunteer department - including the chief. The group has 22 active members who routinely go through mandated training. The volunteers have learned how to handle structure, woods, hazmat and chemical fires.
