NC S.T.E.P.

Mount Gilead is an NC S.T.E.P. demonstration town, a program established by the NC Rural Center to spur economic activity, innovation and job creation - thus improving our quality of life.

Grants have paid for

1) Upgrading the Highland Center

2) Creating The Piedmont Center for the Arts

3) Development of The Ford Place restaurant

4) Establishment of a computer learning center

5) Marketing efforts
